The mystery account was sitting in the T&Cs
For two years, @world_xyz was a globe, a slogan, and silence. No product page, no team, no documentation. The account followed people back, occasionally hinted at hiring, and posted cryptic one-liners about trading everything. Nobody outside the operation knew what it actually was.
The answer turned up in Phantom's legal disclosures. On 24 June, Phantom published a prediction-markets disclosure page that named World Prediction Markets as the non-custodial protocol powering its onchain markets. The filing described how order routing works, how positions are structured as SPL tokens, and how settlement happens onchain.
This was the legal unmasking, not the marketing launch. There was no press release, no coordinated thread, no countdown. Phantom's compliance team published a disclosure page, and the identity of the mystery account became a matter of public record.
Foresight News caught it the same day, noting that World had not yet introduced itself but was already sitting inside one of the most-used wallets on Solana. The broader press coverage came a week later, when the official launch on 1 July gave outlets a news hook to write about.
