The house starts hiring in public
On 4 August, @world_xyz posted three words: "we are hiring." The instructions were simple. Comment to apply. DMs are closed. Referrals welcome.
The next day, the referral and signing bonus was publicly raised to $200,000. The day after that, it doubled to $500,000. The growth role was described as open indefinitely and as requiring "the best in the world." Superteam Talent noticed.
This is one of the strongest culture stories of the quarter. Most crypto teams hire through AngelList, Discord channels, or private recruiter networks. World hired through a reply thread on X with DMs closed. No job descriptions, no career page, no HR portal. Just a public post and a half-million-dollar incentive to bring in the right person.
The hiring approach is consistent with everything else about World's public persona: cryptic, confident, and designed to generate attention without giving away internal details. The team remains unpublished. The roles are vague. The money is specific.
Whether the $500k referral bonus was paid to anyone is not confirmed. The post is the story.
