How resolution and oracles are described publicly
Resolution is the step most people skip past when learning a prediction market, but it's the part that determines whether the whole system can be trusted.
The general pattern
- A market is created with clear resolution criteria stated upfront
- The event happens in the real world
- An oracle brings that outcome onchain in a verifiable way
- The smart contract pays out the winning side automatically
World's public position
World uses Chainlink as oracle infrastructure, which fits the general pattern above an external, verifiable data feed rather than a single internal decision-maker. Beyond that, World hasn't published deep technical documentation on dispute processes or edge cases, at least not that's part of the public record we're tracking.
We'll update this page as more becomes public. See Chainlink as World's oracle layer for the news-side coverage of this.
