Chainlink as World's oracle layer, explained simply

A prediction market is only as good as its resolution the moment a YES/NO question gets settled based on what actually happened. World uses Chainlink as oracle infrastructure for this.

What an oracle does, in one line

An oracle brings real-world information onto the blockchain in a way smart contracts can act on. Without one, a smart contract has no way to know who won a game or what a headline said.

Why this matters for World specifically

  • Resolution isn't decided by a single company employee clicking a button
  • The data path is verifiable, which supports World's broader "transparent, onchain" claim
  • It's infrastructure, not a guarantee oracle design still matters, and World hasn't published deep technical detail on this publicly

We'll add more here as World's own documentation expands. See How resolution and oracles work for the fuller explainer.
